NORMAL OPERATION
START UP
Ensure power is supplied to the CompuScale III. The following procedures may be performed on a routine
basis, as required. Access to the Zero and Span calibration, and Reset Total functions may be restricted.
ZERO CALIBRATION CHECK
Ensure the belt scale test reference (Test Weight, ECAL, or Test Chain) is removed. Run the belt empty at
normal speed until sufficiently limber.
to initiate a zero calibration. When complete (time dependent on programming)
the deviation from the last Zero calibration is displayed.
if the zero deviation is acceptable.
If the zero deviation is not acceptable, or if [ZERO OUT OF RANGE] is displayed, investigate the reason for
the deviation, correct the condition, and try the zero calibration again.
SPAN CALIBRATION CHECK
If used, ensure the correct Test Reference (P20) and Multispan Number (P26) are selected.
Apply the Test Reference (P20) to the belt scale. Run the belt empty at normal speed.
to initiate a Span calibration. When complete (time dependent on programming)
the deviation from the span calibration is displayed.
if the span deviation is acceptable.
If the span deviation is not acceptable, or if [SPAN OUT OF RANGE] is displayed, investigate the reason for
the deviation, correct the condition, and try the Span calibration again.
Stop the belt and remove the test reference (Test Weight, ECAL, or Test Chain) from the belt scale.
RESET TOTAL
If necessary, reset the CompuScale III totalizer.
to initiate a totalizer reset.
to select the Main or Sub Total.
to reset the selected Total display value to 0.
Refer to the manufacturers instructions to reset the remote totalizer, if any.
RUN
(and then if necessary) to display Load.
Start the conveyor and activate the material prefeed control device (if any) to begin running material on the
belt, while observing the material load.
to access the Speed display, observe the belt speed.
to access the Rate display, observe the material rate.
to access the Total display, observe the amount of material run on the belt since
the last Total Reset.
